Records Cleared/Pardons
Hilton Head Island Area Attorneys
There are many reasons it is advantageous to have your records cleared or an offense pardoned. One of the more important reasons is on behalf of any future employer who might run a background check. Even if you were acquitted of a crime, you can't make the assumption that it was cleared from your record. It is important to make certain that any record you may have is an accurate reflection of your criminal history.

Records Cleared
If you have a prior conviction for an offense, you may be eligible to have your charges expunged. Additionally, if you were merely arrested and not convicted of an offense, you may be eligible to have these arrest records expunged.

Pardons
If you are not eligible to have a particular conviction or arrest removed from your record, you may be entitled to a pardon. A pardon mitigates or sets aside punishment for a crime and restores the rights and privileges forfeited on account of the offense.
